SilverScript Insurance and the Medicare drug benefit

Medicare drug benefits have changed. Beginning January 1, 2006, Medicare began offering a new prescription drug program called Medicare Part D. This drug coverage allows most people who are eligible for Medicare to save considerably on their prescription drug costs.

You will have a choice of drug plans under Medicare Part D, and how much you save will depend on your unique circumstances. Everyone who is eligible will benefit from knowing they’re covered should their drug costs become very high

Choosing the program that’s right for you is a big decision. To help you, we will explain the benefits of Medicare Part D drug coverage, how different Medicare Part D drug plans work, and how to get the most out of your coverage.

The best way to start is to gather your own personal information and use the tools on this site to help you determine which prescription drug plan might best fit your needs. If you haven’t already determined whether you are eligible, contact us at SilverScript Insurance to find out. Here is information you can use to help you select your plan:

  • List of pharmacies where you prefer to shop.
  • List of the prescription drugs that you currently take or anticipate taking in the upcoming year based on recent health diagnoses. You may wish to consult with your physician to help you with this.
  • Estimated cost of prescription drugs that you currently take or plan to take in the upcoming year (Our Budget and Plan Pricing Calculator tool can help you determine these costs if you don't know them).

The next Open Enrollment Period is November 15th through December 31st. At SilverScript Insurance you can compare plans online, get the facts and make the decision that’s right for you. If you are considering switching plans, we can help with that too – just Contact Us.

As a benefit for enrolled SilverScript Insurance members, you will have access to a Health and Wellness section from SilverScript Insurance. The site offers drug and health news, interactive quizzes and references, online calculators, and a wide range of articles relating to healthcare.
